Dear Robert,
We love it when interesting things turn up in one of our destinations. You may have seen it in the news. A new bald-headed, pink-faced songbird has recently been discovered in central Laos. Not too long ago, a "rock-rat", thought extinct for millions of years, turned up in the same area.
I can't promise that you will see anything so unusual along the roads we travel in Laos, but it is remarkable that new, never seen before, animals keep popping up in a destination we travel to. It makes the name of our Lao tour, "Journey Back in Time", seem even more appropriate.
We are happy to see the economic decline slowing. Lot's of people are starting to travel again. Like everyone else, we're anxious to get down the road of financial recovery. We intend to do our part.
You have heard of "cash for clunkers". Well, we have developed our own stimulus program: "moolah for mashers". For each Corsica Tour Registration received for the April 24, 2010 tour, we will give you $300 off. The deal is good for one week or until we run out of money, whichever occurs first. Considering we are going to raise our Corsica price immediately thereafter (the dollar is in the tank vs. the euro), it is a value.
If you know someone who you think might be interested in visiting one of the world's greatest cycling destinations, clue them in.

Spotlight on Evisa, Corsica

Evisa is one of our favorite spots in Corsica. It is a classic mountain village of a few hundred people. Like other mountain villages in Corsica, it is very different from the the upscale, beautiful-people-on-yachts flavor of some larger coastal towns. There is nothing transient about it. It feels timeless. Stone buildings, a lone cat scampering into into a doorway, an old man looking out a window. You imagine here that days melt into weeks, weeks into months and months into years.
Evisa is known for chestnuts. The harvest is not what it once was, but it still brings in 1,200 tons. Most of that is gound into gluten-free chestnut flour which is ideal for pastries. It's also used to make the local beer - Pietra, which has the distinct flavor of Chataigne.
While in Evisa, we usually eat hearty Corsican mountain food that is served family style (and cooked and served by the family!) After the climb to Evisa, you can't imagine how good that can be.
The next tour in Corsica is "Isle of Beauty" scheduled for April 24, 2010. Isle of Beauty Itinerary.

"Moolah for Mashers" - $300 off Corsica
The "Isle of Beauty" is "Isle of Booty" for the next week. $300 off our regular low price of $2,295. This discount can't be combined with any others.
We are anxious to get back to the island. Corsica, our very first tour destination, is a spectacular place.
Give some thought to some individual exploration before or after our tour. There is a narrow gauge train that is within walking distance of our hotel outside Bastia. It can either take you into Bastia or you can go the other direction to Corte, the physical and cultural heart of the island. You can also take a ferryboat from Bastia over to Nice on mainland France (4.5 hours) or to Italy. You might also head south to Bonifacio and take the ferry to Sardinia (45 minutes). There are many options.
