The current financial downturn is an excellent time to travel. Airfares are low. We have listed some samples below. With some searching you might well be able to do better than these. Not all that many people are traveling and bargains are abundant.
Speaking of bargains, the O'Club's charitable auction is ON. There are many cycling related items as well as a host of other great things to bid on. Proceeds go to the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization. It's win-win. O'Club Auction to support NYOF
The auction has started and runs through June 14. There is a spot on the Far and Away Cycling Indochine tour worth $2,295 up for bid. Other cycling items include registrations to Bike Virginia, the PPTC Century ride, the Marin (CA) Century ride, the Great Peanut Tour, the Grand Tour in Canada (Quebec) and Cascade Bicycle Club Passports (2). There also is a cycling license from USA Cycling, a nice woman's saddle from Terry, a Far and Away cycling jersey, a Far and Away Cycling - Spain jacket and much more.
Beyond cycling items, there are hotel stays (New York, Wash DC, Chicago, Orlando, Quebec, Ottawa), gift baskets, roundtrip airline tickets, a ride in a private plane, a stay at a vacation home in Nicaragua, gift certificates for restaurants, massages and travel consulting. There is an autographed basketball jersey (Caron Butler of the Wizards), an autographed baseball (Randy St Claire, most recently of the Nationals), and great seats at a Capitals game. In all, there are over 150 items being auctioned off.
