The last Newsletter had an article on Big Brother Mouse and the effort to bring reading books to the children of Laos. Well, Chantal has organized a silent auction to be held at the Canadian Embassy on May 25, 2008 and all the proceeds will go to Big Brother Mouse! Wayne Katelnikoff, who was on the 2006 Laos Tour, has donated several nice emergency medical kits to be auctioned off at the event and we are in the process of collecting other items. 2009 Schedule Released
 For 2009, you can choose from Spain, Corsica, Croatia, Slovenia Laos, India and Vietnam. We may not be big, but we have variety. The tours range from 7 to 14 nights. They are all challenging and take in the best of what each destination has to offer.
Check the schedule once in awhile as we may add more later.

Big Brother Mouse is coming to the Officer's Club of the Canadian Embassy...
 Chantal has arranged for the Officer's Club of the Canadian Embassy in Washington DC to host a silent auction to benefit Big Brother Mouse.
Big Brother Mouse publishes and distributes books for school children in Laos and we are commited to helping them in that effort.
If you have been on the Laos tour you know the thrill of visiting a school and the kind of positive impact that is possible. If you have anything that can be added to the auction, please let me know.

Spotlight on Motovun, Croatia
 This is the first stop on the Croatia tour.
Arguably, it is the most beautiful and dramatic town in all of Istria. The mother tongue for most of the 550 residents is Italian. The area around Motovun is famous for truffles.
That is not all. Motovun is the birthplace of legendary race car driver Mario Andretti and his twin brother Aldo in 1940. The city was called Montona d'Istria, Italy at the time. The
brothers raced hand-crafted wooden cars through the steep streets.
After World War II Istria once again became part of Croatia, Yugoslavia. The Andretti family, like many other Italian Istrians, fled in 1948. They lived in a refugee camp from 1948 to 1955 and then resettled in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, United States.
