Far and Away Cycling

Far and Away has eliminated almost all overhead, including advertising.  Our destinations effectively sell themselves and promotion is mainly limited to the internet, word of mouth and our newsletter.  To get our name "on the road" and to support a good cause, we are contributing 30 of our new jerseys to the fight against cancer.

Who hasn't been affected by cancer in one way or another?  We all know people that have had cancer or we are living with it or we have lost loved ones from it.  We are ALL affected.

So...here's the deal:  You make a contribution to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the American Cancer Society or Susan G. Komen for the Cure for $30 or more ($30 is half the regular price) and we send you a jersey!   Ditto for similar organizations in Canada and Australia.

Click HERE to see those who have already joined the "Spandex with Purpose" honor roll.

I have no connection to any of these charities.  If you have no preference, make your check to "The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society" and we'll help Dan Katz, a Far and Away alum, who has commited to raise several thousand dollars this summer for the Society.
How to get one:
  1. E-mail me with the size you want and address.
  2. Get confirmation that we still have it and will hold it.
  3. Send your check to Far and Away (address at bottom) but make it payable to one (or more) of the cancer organizations at right.
  4. We send your jersey.
  5. Be sure to use your canceled check to get your "employer match", if any.
Everything you pay goes to the cause. Far and Away pays for ... the design work, the production, the packaging, handling and shipping of the jersey.

Sorry, no exchanges thru the mail.  If you need to swap a size, try to catch me on a ride.

Minimum Donation: $30.
(more would be great)

If you are in the Washington DC metro area, please also consider the Rich Rau Memorial ride on May 19, 2007 in Berryville, VA.  Your entry fee of $25 supports the Rich Rau Memorial Fund.

Many thanks for helping support these causes and thanks for making the tours possible.

Sincerely yours,

The  Jerseys

White panels down the middle with a fade to black on the sides.  On the front, there are a few corporate logos, including are own, as well as a globe of the world.

On the back there are six symbols: one for each of Far and Away's destinations.  On the pockets in back there is picture of a road with ....."the world" on the horizon.  Hey, Rod Sterling has nothing on us!

These are full zip. $30 is half the regular price.  They are cut slim so you may want to order up a size (I'm 6"1 175-180 lbs and take an XL).  Smaller sizes are "sleeveless".  The latter have little mini sleeves that give you a kind of "Tinkerbell" look (some scissors would fix that fast!).  Sizing is unisex.  No exchanges through the mail, but I'm happy to exchange yours if you see me on a ride.
Unlike the Twilight Zone, our offer has limits:  Expires May 20, 2007 or when we run out, whichever comes first.  One per person.
