The start and end point of this trip are Chaing Rai and Vientiane or just the opposite, depending on the direction that we choose to do the trip.

Regardless, most people will fly to Bangkok (airport code BKK) as it is the central hub for SE Asia.

The cost of the flight between BKK and Chaing Rai is about $70. The cost of the flight between BKK and Vientiane is about $150.

We can make arrangements for you in Bangkok and more often than not the entire group will be at the same place.

A visa is required for travel in Laos. The cost of a visa is $50 for US Citizens and $60 for Canadian Citizens. We generally obtain visas at the Lao embassy in Washington DC in advance of the trip. Additionally immunizations are required as is health insurance.
