The Wobblin' Sprocket

I helped the fisherman a little this morning with their catch and then we had a ride to Varkala Beach and back.

 

Today was  a little different as far as the fishing goes.  It’s Sunday which means that only Muslim fisherman are on the beach.  Christian fisherman would be fined by the Church if they fished on Sunday.  It explains why I didn’t recognize anyone on the beach from last year.   It  is a matter of constenation to the Christian fisherman who claim they fish all week and get fewer fish than Muslim’s do by fishing one Sunday each week.  I think they may have a point.

 Allen:

 Allen had about 5 flats.  We finally had to visit a local Indian bike shop for some repair help.  We though it was the tape liner on the wheel so they made a new one out of an old tube.  The also repaired 3 tubes.  We spent about an hour there I’d say.  Total bill:  25 rupees.  Less than $1. A view of the beach after we got back.  The crows are ever present.We had a traditional Kerala meal at the Wild Palms.  Eat with your fingers.  No photos.  Use your imagination. We also ran into this elephant on the way to Varkala:Some head shots of statues, etc. on the way to Varkala:Tomorrow we take the train to Madurai.  We are still missing 3 people.  Their flight is supposed to arrive at 2:30am.  I hope they make it! Best,Bob
