Peam Chi Kang

by on Feb.11, 2012, under Cambodia

We rode our bikes out of Phnom Penh.  that is a trip.  Chaotic at best.  I don’t mind so much but Chantal hates it.  Peam Chi Kang is in the boonies.  We followed the main road for awhile and then turned off.  We were glad we did…less traffic…but then we ran into the inevitable…less road…and dust, heat potential and possible sunstroke.   All the while we were right next to the mighty  Mekong.

We had some interesting moments:

Parts of the road were great...like this.

I love these birds! They would look good on a bike jersey. I know there is a story to them. I need to do some research. We stopped at this Temple...but not for long...we were too hot!

The road turned to dirt and dust. The kind of light dust that is stirred by anything that passes....

This is TOO WEIRD! The guy on the right with his little daughter teaches English and hands me a paragraph in a magazine and wants me to interpret it so he can explain it to his class.....

Chantal couldn't stop laughing. This guy in Timbuktu Cambodia wanted me, Robert Thompson to explain some quote of professor Robert Thompson....what the hell are the chances of that???

How can you explain this kind of stuff?  Friends?  The impact of 9/11??  Good grief?

There wasn't much in Peam Chi but our GH overlooked the Mekong. The boat in the back is the ferry that crosses the Mekong here. The river is about a kilometer wide.
