Hi Bob,
Just been catching up on your blog. Really enjoying it, well written
and great photos.
Funnily enough I’ve ended up at the Holumba Haven in Kalimpong as
well, where I’ve extended my stay for a few days – both because it’s
so nice and because … tired from the ride – I took an
alternate route to the one you took, which was almost traffic free,
very beautiful (good) but longer and horrendously steep… I even
pushed for a while, which I’ve not had to do before – more for a
change from cycling than because it was any easier.
Anyway, I think that ride sort of atoned for not cycling in North Sikkim.
But I regretted not having a GPS, would love to know how much I had to
climb – I’d started of thinking Kalimpong was relatively low altitude
and I’d have an easy day, but I hadn’t realised I had to cycle over
another much higher hill to get to it.
Anyway, I’m meant to be trying to arrange flights back to Delhi, so I better go.
