In TdF Withdrawal?

Perhaps you are wondering what you are going to watch now that the only thing left of the Tour de France is the verbal jousting regarding Contador and Armstrong.
Wonder no more. Universal Sports just announced yesterday that they will cover each stage of the Vuelta a Espana. There will be live coverage over the internet and then a rebroadcast on TV. That works!
The Vuelta, which runs from August 29 to Sept 20, will be a very international affair. It starts in the Netherlands for 3 stages and then goes through Germany on the way to an overnight in Belgium. The Vuelta then transfers back into Spain for the remaining stages.
Like the Tour de France there will be a total of 21 stages: 10 flat, 8 mountain and 3 individual time trials.

Top GC contenders expected to be at the start are Andy Schleck, Ivan Basso, Alejandro Valverde and Oscar Pereiro. However, none of last year’s top 3 finishers will be there: Contador, Leipheimer and Sastre.
