It’s hard not to like this idea. There is a convergence of factors that should be giving a tailwind to cyclists trying to improve bikeways all across the country:
1) Global warming. Bikes are green.
2) It’s healthy to ride. Other than the risk of getting mowed down, riding a bike is good for you.
3) Moolah. There is lots of stimulus money floating around for road improvements. Biking solutions should get their fair share
4) Economics. Bikes are cheaper than cars.
5) What else? Oh yes, the Lance factor. That can’t hurt.
